Learn How To Train Your Dog in 8 Hours!!

Date: 02/03/08

Time: 9am - 4:30pm

Our comprehensive one day workshops are offered to dog owners of any level of training, but are geared towards beginners.  This is also a opportunity for Doggie Parents who have taken a Beginner class in the past, but would like a refresher.

We hear from many owners that they simply do not have the time to take a 7 week class, or their schedules do not coincide with our lesson times.  Some do not have the resources to take advantage of our highly successful "In House Training" option.

We have developed a one day workshop that covers all of the most frequently used commands like sit, down, stay, heel and come as well as typical manners issues like waiting at the door, jumping up and going after things like cats or squirrels (the "leave it" command).

You can count on us to help you establish very high standards of behavior for your dog which will result in reliable responses to the commands, even in the presence of distractions.

Interesting lectures about training philosophies and canine psychology are also included in the workshop.

The goal of the course is to educate dog owners how to train their own dogs as well as to provide them with all of the information they will need to continue their dog's training at home.

This is a hands-on class.  Bring your dog and be ready to see him/her transform before your very eyes into a compliant, happy companion.

Participants in the class receive a certificate, suitable for framing.

"One of the Marvelous things that happens when your dog is trained!

You start enjoying each other's company on a WHOLE new level!"

 In just one day!

  • This workshop is limited to 16 participants.

  • Lecture time will be with both Trainers.

  • Training time we will split the group up into two separate areas to Train!!

Workshop participation includes a booklet of supplementary information, that can be used as a valuable reference guide.

If you would like to host a workshop, please feel free to contact us to schedule a workshop in your area.

For groups that have training underway, the One Day Workshop can be tailored to address trouble areas and culminate in an AKC CGC Test.

Our last Seminar "Freedom vs. Assertiveness" was a HIT!!

Read what Val had to say!!

HI THERE,
JUST A NOTE TO SAY I THOUGHT YOUR SEMINAR WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND WAS PRESENTED IN A VERY "USER FRIENDLY MANNER".  THE SET UP OF TABLES, WITH INFORMATIONAL BOOKLETS, DESSERTS AND COFFEE AND A STUDENT DEMONSTRATION AT THE END WAS AWESOME. I AM SO GLAD I WAS ABLE TO ATTEND. I ESPECIALLY FOUND INTERESTING THE SUBJECT MATTER REGARDING THE TRAINING OF A GUIDE DOGS.  I WOULD LOVE TO TALK TO YOU MORE ON YOUR TRAINING OF DOGS FOR THE DISABLED. (VERY INTERESTING) I ALSO WAS LOOKING AT THE WEBSITE AND FOUND THE VIDEO OF YOUR PLACE. YOU REALLY HAVE WORKED HARD ON EVERYTHING. (IT SHOWS)
                         BEST WISHES VAL

"Hyper Dogs, Body Awareness and Attention"

By Trainer and Behaviorist:

Cheryl Swarts

  • Why is my dog so Hyper?

  • How do you slow them down?

  • Have more attention for the Owner

  • Conscience Attention and Training

  • Body Awareness for Owner and Himself (Dog)

  • Why are these things  important?

My dog is so hyper he just can't listen.  He is too busy watching everything else, jumping, biting, running away and destroying my house!!  My family and company don't come over any more because my dog is just soooo uncontrollable!

Why is it important for my dog to have more body awareness.  Body awareness of himself and of other people.  Awareness of harmful things in the home and outside.

We CAN teach our dogs to have a better sensitivity to things around them and us.

We CAN teach our dogs to "BE CAREFUL"

We CAN teach our dogs to "RELAX" on command

We CAN teach our dogs to "LISTEN" and make it fun to work with us

We CAN teach our dogs to "NOT JUMP"

We CAN teach our dogs to "RESPECT & TRUST" that we will take care of them and be a strong Pack Leader

When we teach our dogs to have a heightened sensitivity to touch, environment, people and themselves.  They become a dog that is more mindful about listening for what's next from their Pack Leader.  Does this take a long time?  Usually only a few sessions.

Come and join us for this GREAT Seminar to LEARN HOW!!

“A dog is like a settler who comes to a foreign country.  She/he makes observations and embraces the customs of that country.  If the parents are content and they smile and help and cooperate with each other, she/he learns that in this country that's the way people are."
